Check Out This Fight Between A Mongoose And A Cobra

07th December 2017 UNDER Blog

A professional golfer from Scotland managed to capture some amazing footage of a cobra fighting for its life. The cobra was trying to fend off an attack by a mongoose that took place on a golf course in South Africa. The attack occurred right in the middle of the European Tour’s Nedbank Golf Challenge and Golfer Andrew Coltart was lucky enough to film it and post it online.

Daring attack

If you watch the video you will see that the cobra was able to defend itself against the mongoose for the duration of the video at least. The mongoose is an incredibly daring species which you can tell from the video. The mongoose attacks the cobra but is simply not able to get close enough to the snake. As the mongoose tries to avoid the cobra’s deadly bite, it briefly disappears behind some nearby trees only to return within a matter of seconds to launch a fresh attack on the poisonous snake.

Not sure who won the fight

The video has gone viral and many people on social media are curious to know what happened in the end and which animal emerged victorious. Unfortunately, we simply don’t know how the story ended and it will forever remain a mystery. The mongoose is the snake’s fiercest opponent and it is impossible to state for sure how such an encounter would end. We all know how deadly a snake’s venom can be but some species of mongoose are actually immune to cobra bites. Check out the video and see for yourself.
