Imagine Coming Across A Bear When You Leave Your Hotel Room!
A hotel manager in Vermont got a bit of a shock when he came across a bear that had wandered into the hotel and was strolling along the hallway. The quick-thinking manager pulled out his phone and captured footage of the animal as it had a good look around. Fortunately, no guests came in contact with bear, so all’s well that ends well, but things really could have taken a turn for the worse.
Bear sightings in the regions have been on the rise
The manager, Dean Romano, who runs the North Star Lodge in Killington posted the video to social media which promptly went viral and was picked up by a variety of news media sources. The bear entered the lodge at about 2 p.m. and stayed for only five minutes before deciding there was nothing to see and left on its own. Local police say that bear sightings have increased over the last few years so they have been asking property owners to make sure that all their food is secured and not within reach of a wandering bear.
On July 10th at approximately 1445 hrs the Killington Police Department responded to a reported bear inside the North Star Lodge. The bear entered through the open front door, walked down a hallway and walked back out the front door. Once back outside the bear snacked on some dumpster trash and went back into the woods. No guests or staff were injured during the encounter.
