Watch This Amazing Video Of Mother Free Diving With 2 Year Old Son And Dolphins
A video has surfaced which shows a woman and her 2-year old baby freediving with dolphins. Whilst the video itself is beautiful there is some cause for concern. The footage was taken off Egypt’s coast and posted on Facebook. In the video the woman can be seen keeping a close eye on her child but at time lets go of the infant whilst dolphins swim less than a few metres away. The baby boy seems to be pretty adept at diving and is able to hold his breath until surfacing whilst the dolphins seem used to having human visitors.
Dolphins can be unpredictable in the wild
One has to remember that dolphins in the ocean are wild animals which means they can be unpredictable. Aside from the dolphins the video also shows jellyfish and not surprisingly the video has generated a lot of comments from viewers. The video was posted to a group on Facebook calling itself Red Sea Diving Safari and unless the group removed the negative comments, most comments seem positive. There were however enough negative comments to elicit a response from Red Sea Diving Safari:
“Just to clarify for anyone who is concerned, the decision to let this family and young child go was not undertaken lightly. The decision was passed from the diving centre, to village management then to senior management of RSDS who discussed the matter with the parents and established how experienced they were and how much time the child had spent in the sea previously.
“This, along with completely flat sea conditions, was what led to this trip going ahead. The safety of all our guests, no matter what age, is the most important thing. We will do whatever we can to allow anyone (and we’re not just talking about age here) to enjoy the Red Sea as long as it is safe to do so.”
