Last month rescue workers arrived at a home in Thailand after the owner reported that a massive python had slithered under the patio. The rescue workers smashed their way through the concrete and dragged the python into a truck so that they could drive it to somewhere in the wild where it could be released.

Python disturbed by vehicle

The python was huge, measuring in at 17-feet. As it was being transported it became disturbed by the vibrations caused by the vehicles motion. The snake then began to regurgitate an enormous 15-kilogram lizard which was captured on camera by the rescue workers. Everyone was shocked

The monitor lizard itself was 5 feet long and emerged from the bowels of the snake completely lifeless at the back of the truck. The resident whose house was where the python was discovered said she was drying her clothes at the back of the house and had spotted a large serpent that had slithered under a gap in the concrete. She said its sheer size shocked her so she ran back into her house and called rescue workers. She adds that her backyard is a wilderness that teems with wildlife but she was still amazed that a snake would be able to consume a lizard that big.

Snake was later released

The rescue workers said it took over an hour to pry the snake free from its hiding place where it has probably been hoping to spend the next week digesting its huge meal. Rescue workers initially tried to use a halter but the huge snake resisted. As a result, they were forced to smash the concrete and use pliers to cut the metal. Apparently, the python was extremely aggressive so the workers knew that it had eaten something but did not know what.  When they saw the lizard being regurgitated, they couldn’t believe their eyes. Whilst the snake was later released into the wild, the lizard was not so lucky.
