This dog showed an immense amount courage quick thinking and was able to mount an incredible escape from a wolf pack that had been hunting it in the thick snow of the Southern Italian mountains. The footage is astonishing and shows the dog clearly being attacked by a menacing pack of three wolves in Abruzzo.
This is an incredibly heart-warming video which shows how people in a village in Thailand joined forces to rescue a baby elephant that found itself trapped in a muddy well. The video which was posted on YouTube shows the baby elephant having a tough time keeping its head above the muddy waters. According to a report in the Chiang Rai Times the calf was part of a herd of 40 elephants that had found themselves in a rubber plantation searching for food.

The tourists were travelling through the Serengeti and were completely shocked when a cheetah decided it wanted a better look of what was happening inside the car.
A video has emerged of an orangutan at a zoo in Indonesia smoking a cigarette. The video has sparked a wave of criticism of the zoo which is infamous for its animal welfare troubles. The video shows a young man flicking his half-smoked cigarette into the orangutan’s enclosure. The primate picks up the cigarette and proceeds to expertly puff on it drawing laughter from crowd.
This amazing video shot in Taboda National Park in the Indian state of Maharashtra managed to capture a violent battle between an adult tiger and a sloth bear. The video which was shot by a tourist group leader on safari and begins with the tiger initially chasing the bear away. At first the bear retreats and then launches its own counter attack, charging back at the tiger. This is certainly not a play fight. As the video continues, it shows the tiger attempting to pin down the bear, with the bear valiantly trying to escape its grip.

These critters were introduced to the public recently and got their first taste of snow. Whatever you do, do not try this at home folks. Check out this video of Jim Kowalczik hanging out with his 1,400 Kodiak bear friend named Jimbo. The pair have a long history as companions so Mr Kowalczik thought nothing of giving his friend a big bear hug when the fella was feeling a little blue. Jimbo has reached the grand old age of 24 and was born in an animal park in California. Mr Kowalczik adopted Jimbo after the park closed.
Check out this funny video that was recorded at a watering hole in the Kruger National Park. It tells the story of a cheeky young bull elephant who seems to believe that the watering hole belongs to him. There is a concrete reservoir at the top of a hill which is used for storing water used to fill the open water point. Elephants are intelligent as we all know, and they quickly reached the conclusion that they can drink directly from the reservoir because they are tall enough to reach the water inside using their trunks. This means the elephants have exclusive access to the reservoir feeding the opening water point that is accessible to all other species.
A holiday maker who was on safari in South Africa managed to capture some unique footage of a buffalo herd stomping to the rescue of an elephant calf that was being hunted by a lion pride. The footage was shot by Ms Jill Mathews and was uploaded on to YouTube by Kruger Sightings. If you watch the video you will see what happened when Ms Mathews safari group departed from Punda Maria camp and encountered a group of animals seeking water at the nearly-dry Klopperfontein Dam.

The two men found themselves in an incredibly dangerous situation when they encountered not one but two full grown tigers standing just a few feet away from them.
A person on safari in Kenya happened to be in the right place at the right time was able to capture on video an attempt by a lion to attack a baby elephant. Fortunately for the little fella, mamma elephant was on high alert and managed to drive away the big cat before any damage could be done.
