Check Out This Elephant Playing The Harmonica
Shanthi is an Asian female elephant who is 36 years old and lives at the Smithsonian National Zoo. Now that might seem quite ordinary by Shanthi has a special talent, she can play the Harmonica!. Whilst at present Shanthi only has the ability to play a couple of notes, what is amazing is her keepers say they did not teach the elephant how to use a harmonica. What they did notice is that Shanthi really loved to make noise using a variety of objects, so they tested her by leaving instruments such as horns and harmonicas around and by herself she started blowing into the instruments until they produced a sound.
Definite tune to the sounds Shanthi plays
Debbie Flinkman who is one of Shanthi’s keepers says what she thinks is most amazing about the tunes Shanthi comes out with is musically they have a beginning, middle and end. They even have a repetitive part which might have some kind of beat to it which listeners can follow. There is a big crescendo at the end which her keepers wait for and then her handlers give her a round of applause. Check out the video above
