Check Out These Two Giant Pandas Get Their First Taste Of Finnish Snow
This video is bound to tickle your aww bone. China has loaned two giant pandas to Finland where they will stay at a zoo in the centre of the country. These critters were introduced to the public recently and got their first taste of snow. Check them out frolicking, galloping, climbing and playing in the snow after emerging from a month-long quarantine.
Special enclosure built for the pair
Hua Bao is a 4-year-old male, and his 3-year-old female partner Jin Bao Bao arrived in Finland at the start of the year. The Finn’s renamed them Pyry which means snowfall and Lumi which means snow in Finish. The two pandas will live in a special panda house annex specially built for the pair at Ahtari Zoo which is about 330 kilometres North of Helsinki.
Panda loans develop goodwill
China has loaned the two pandas to Finland for 15 years as a gift to celebrate 100 years of independence from Russia. China uses its pandas to develop goodwill with other countries and build closer political relations. Finland is the first Nordic country to receive such a gift.
