Check Out This Adorable Video Of Rare White Lion Cubs
The Toronto Zoo made its two month old lion cubs available to the public recently through the zoo’s YouTube channel and the critters cuteness is on display for everyone to see. Babies of most species are almost always cute but what about species that are extremely rare, just two months old and checking out their environment? Well the cuteness factor is so off the chart that even Ebeneezer Scrooge would act like a tearing fan at an Adele concert.
Cubs not on display
The four cubs are all male and born at the end of September to a white lion mother named Makali. Vet’s say the first 30 days of their life were critical and it is now expected that they will all remain in good health. The zoo has not put the cubs on display yet because they are still in the maternity ward of the lion habitat. However we do have the next best thing, there is video of the cubs available which shows them exploring their environment and they have become internet sensations already.
Less than 300 white lions left
White lions get their colour from a gene mutation and are not separate species from the African lion. According to the International Union for Conservation o0f Nature, the species is listed as threatened. According to the Global White Lion Protection Trust, there are less than 300 white lions left in the world
