Check Out This Video Of A Leopard Trying To Attack A Porcupine
A group of people on safari in South Africa’s Kruger National Park were tracking a leopard that was walking in front of them. They noticed the big cat’s behaviour change dramatically when it spotted a couple of porcupines heading in its direction. The leopard thought it had won the lottery with dinner arriving. Donovan Piketh who was part of the group said as soon as the porcupines were spotted by the leopard it quickly went into stalking mode and the group knew something was going to happen. Mr Piketh said it was the first time he had seen porcupines, what happened next suggests it was probably the leopard’s first time as-well.
Leopard learned its lesson
The leopard quickly learned that trying to make a meal out of a porcupine is the equivalent of trying to eat a cactus. Mr Donovan said the leopard was definitely the one that came out of the exchange worse for wear that day whilst the porcupines walked away unscathed. He added that the leopard had to spend a great deal of time trying to get the quills off him and eventually gave up and headed off into the bush. We’re guessing the leopard learned its lesson and will never attack a porcupine again.
