Watch This Mama Raccoon Defend Her Cubs From A Bobcat

A woman living in Sarasota Florida was able to record footage of an intense fight between a raccoon and bobcat taking place in her very own backyard! Erin Earth uploaded the video to social media and if you watch it, you will see a stand off between a mama raccoon most likely trying to defend her three babies and the bobcat.

Viscous counter attack

The video shows the bobcat stalking the raccoon and all of a sudden lunging at it. Unfazed by the attack the raccoon launches a counter attack and manages to chase the bobcat out of the woods. Can you imagine seeing something like that in your backyard! Ms Earth says she wasn’t surprised because her backyard contains so much wildlife that she started her YouTube channel to document it on video.

All part of a plan

According to Ms Earth when the Bobcat pounced she was taken completely surprise by the raccoon’s response and did not expect it would charge back the way it did. She said though she did not know it at the time, later on she realised that the bobcat was trying to get the raccoon to leave her cubs which is why the predator returned to area where the babies were located with the raccoon in hot pursuit. Fortunately, everyone survived and no one is worse for wear.
