The Aardvark is an interesting looking creature, with big ears and long nose! They are nocturnal mammals, and are native to the continent of Africa. They are one of the oldest surviving animals on the planet, with fossils that date back over 5 million years. They are actually related to the pig family, though are medium in size, and can weigh up to 140lbs.
Though they once were declining in numbers, the Aadvark is now a stable member of the animal kingdom. Their primary threat comes from other animals, and are known prey to lions, cheetahs, and the infamous honey badger. Unfortunately their habitat is becoming smaller through human development, so as our population grows, so will theirs diminish.
